What we build

Off-the-shelf eLearning rarely fits. Your procedures are specific to your systems, your compliance requirements reference your own policy documents, and your brand isn't "generic corporate blue." Sodema designs and builds bespoke eLearning that matches your context precisely — grounded in cognitive science principles so learners actually retain what they need.

Every module we produce is built from a validated storyboard, reviewed by SMEs against your source material, and tested for SCORM/xAPI compatibility with your LMS before delivery. We hand over source files so your team can maintain content without coming back to us every time a policy changes.

Authoring tools we use

Best for complex interactions

Articulate Storyline 360

Branching scenarios, custom interactions, software simulations, and SCORM packaging where depth and interaction fidelity matter most. Ideal for procedural training, compliance with scenario-based assessment, and software adoption.

Best for fast, responsive courses

Articulate Rise 360

Lesson-based responsive courses that work beautifully on any device. Fast to iterate, easy for clients to review, and excellent for onboarding programmes, knowledge updates, and microlearning hubs.

Enterprise / legacy LMS

Lectora Inspire

When your LMS requires strict SCORM 1.2 compliance or your organisation has existing Lectora content to maintain. Also strong for accessibility-first builds with granular WCAG control.

Video-based learning

Camtasia + Rise/Storyline

Screen recordings, talking-head video, and annotated software walkthroughs embedded into structured eLearning modules. Efficient for IT, software training, and procedure walkthroughs.

Our development process

1

Discovery & design brief

We confirm audience, learning objectives (Bloom's-aligned), LMS requirements, accessibility standards, brand guidelines, and success measures. No build starts without a signed-off design brief.

2

Content audit & SME interviews

We review your existing materials (PDFs, slides, policies, SOPs) and interview SMEs to extract what learners need to do, not just know. We apply action mapping to keep scope tight.

3

Storyboard

A full slide-by-slide storyboard — narration script, visual instructions, interaction specifications, and assessment items — reviewed and approved by you before we write a line of code.

4

Prototype

A functional prototype of 10–15% of the module demonstrating look, feel, interaction patterns, and audio style. Approved before full development begins — eliminates late-stage rework.

5

Development & SME review cycles

Full build in your chosen authoring tool. We use structured SME review templates (see our free SME Feedback Standardizer) to keep review feedback in scope and actionable.

6

QA & LMS testing

Internal QA for accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), SCORM/xAPI compliance testing, cross-browser and device testing, and a final walkthrough with your LMS administrator before deployment.

7

Delivery & handover

Published SCORM/xAPI package, source files in the authoring tool, a maintenance guide, and a brief handover session with your team. We're available for post-launch support.

What you receive

Accessibility & standards

Every module is built to WCAG 2.1 AA standards as a baseline. This includes: keyboard navigation, screen reader compatibility, sufficient colour contrast (using our own free A11y Colour Contrast Checker), alt text for all non-decorative images, captions for all audio and video, and no reliance on colour alone to convey meaning.

For clients with Section 508 requirements or specific organisational accessibility policies, we can scope to higher conformance levels.

Frequently asked questions

A typical 20-minute Storyline module takes 6–10 weeks from kick-off to SCORM delivery, including two review cycles. Rise modules can be faster (3–5 weeks) due to the template-based structure. Timeline depends heavily on how quickly your SMEs can review and how much source content you already have.

It helps but isn't required. We can work from scratch using SME interviews and your business context. What we do need is access to the right subject matter experts and a clear picture of the performance problem the module needs to solve.

Any LMS that accepts SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or xAPI packages — which includes Moodle, Cornerstone, SAP SuccessFactors, Docebo, TalentLMS, CYPHER Learning, and many others. We test with your specific LMS before final delivery.

You do. We hand over all source files (.story, .rise, etc.) as part of the final deliverable. Your team can maintain and update the content without returning to us. We also provide a style guide so future updates stay consistent.

Yes. We ask for your brand guidelines (colours, fonts, logo usage, tone of voice) before the prototype stage and build a custom theme. We'll also document the theme so all future modules use the same visual system.
